Nikhil Kumar

Nikhil Kumar is the deputy global editor at Grid, reporting on global affairs. He was formerly CNN’s bureau chief in New Delhi, overseeing the network’s coverage of India and the wider region, as well as reporting on-air for major stories, including the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka. Previously, he was Time Magazine’s South Asia bureau chief and, before that, a senior editor helping oversee the magazine’s international coverage out of New York. He has also worked as an editor and foreign correspondent for the Independent and the Evening Standard. Nikhil is a graduate of University College London.
