Michael Landgraf

VP Corporate Development at GridLiance

Michael Landgraf serves as vice president of Corporate Development for GridLiance and President of GridLiance West, the company’s operating utility in the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) region. GridLiance collaborates with electric cooperatives, municipal utilities and renewable energy developers in support of its mission to provide transmission customers comparable access, reliability, resiliency and cost. In his role, Landgraf oversees GridLiance West activities and is responsible for identifying and executing collaborative transmission solutions within the CAISO with our existing partners as well as driving value in new partnerships.

Prior to joining GridLiance as director of corporate development in 2019, Landgraf worked as vice president of industrial development of Omnitrax, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions. Before that, he worked as director of business development at Hunt Energy Solutions from 2015 to 2016 and at Sharyland Utilities from 2012 to 2015. Landgraf was a key member of Sharyland Utilities development team, which launched the first start-up wires only distribution and transmission utility in South Texas. The successful development of Sharyland Utilities enabled the utility to be selected as one of the transmission service provider’s for Texas’ Competitive Renewable Energy Zone that was built to encourage the development of wind generation in the state. From 1999 to 2008, Landgraf also worked in several business development roles at Hunt Power, which founded Sharyland Utilities. He received a Master of Business Administration, summa cum laude, from the University of Texas Pan American and a bachelor’s degree in economics from San Diego State University.
