Daniel F. Noriega

Daniel F. Noriega is a data scientist and project manager with experience in renewable energy and market design. Daniel F. has worked at GridMarket, LLC as a Lead Data Scientist and Senior Project Manager, where they designed and implemented algorithms to automate the identification and valuation of renewable energy projects. Daniel F. also developed economic models to assess the viability of sustainable development investments for nations like Costa Rica.

Prior to that, Noriega worked at NYISO as an Associate Market Design Specialist, where they created a new wholesale energy market resource type to enable storage resources' participation and enhance market efficiency. Daniel F. also collaborated with stakeholders and presented at committee meetings as a technical expert.

Before joining NYISO, Noriega worked at ConSalfa Corp. as a Claims Assessor, Project Control Manager (I) - Palermo Terminal, and Operations Professional. Daniel F. also has experience as a Research Assistant at Universidad de los Andes.

Daniel F. Noriega has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes, which they obtained from 2009 to 2012. Daniel F. then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Energy Science, Technology, and Policy at Carnegie Mellon University from 2015 to 2016. Following that, they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2018 and 2019. Currently, they are enrolled in the University of Chicago for a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Financial Mathematics, which started in 2023 and is expected to conclude in 2024.
