David Stoecker

David Stoecker, LCSW, serves as the Executive Director of Better Life in Recovery, Inc. since January 2012, focusing on providing hope and dignity to individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges through community service and educational events. Stoecker is also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist at The Grief Recovery Institute and previously held the role of Missouri Education and Advocacy Outreach Coordinator at the Missouri Recovery Network from January 2017 to December 2018. With experience as a co-occurring therapist at Alternative Opportunities Treatment Services, Stoecker has utilized various therapeutic approaches, including Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition to these roles, Stoecker has contributed to Celebrate Recovery in several capacities, including as an Assimilation Coach and Ministry Leader. An accomplished blogger, Stoecker writes about topics related to addiction and recovery and holds a Master's degree in Social Work and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Missouri State University.
