MacKenzie Elmer

Mackenzie Elmer has extensive experience in the education field. Mackenzie is currently working as the Director of Student Support Services at Griffin Technology Academies. Prior to this role, they worked for the West Contra Costa Unified School District as a Preschool special education teacher and a New teacher mentor. Mackenzie also worked as a Special Education Specialist at Albany Unified School District. Additionally, Mackenzie has experience at Los Altos United Methodist Church, where they served as the Chair of Donovan's Door Ministry Team, organizing respite nights and running a parent support group for parents of children with special educational needs. Mackenzie has also worked as a Special Education Teacher at Los Altos School District and Fremont Unified School District, as well as at Achieve Kids, teaching a functional Life skills class. Mackenzie started their career as a Special Education Teacher - Intern at Santa Clara County Office of Education and later became a 1:1 Aide and Long Term Substitute Teacher at Sequoia Union High School District.

Mackenzie Elmer obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Child and Adolescent Development from San Jose State University in the year 2013-2014. Mackenzie then pursued a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching at Notre Dame de Namur University from 2014 to 2015. In the same period, Mackenzie also earned a Moderate/Severe Special Education Credential from Notre Dame de Namur University. Continuing their education, they completed a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at California State University - East Bay from 2020 to 2021.

In addition to their academic achievements, Mackenzie holds several certifications. Mackenzie obtained the Doula certification from DONA International in April 2015. Mackenzie also achieved the Safety Care with Severity level 1 and 2 add-ons certification from Achieve Kids Palo Alto in August 2014. Furthermore, Mackenzie is certified in First Aid/CPR and AED by the American Red Cross, which they obtained in May 2013.
