David Piza has extensive work experience in the food and beverage industry. David currently serves as the Director of Global Business Development Alternative Proteins at Griffith Foods, where they drive new and existing business opportunities. Additionally, they lead the Global Account Management of Strategic Accounts, supporting local units' customer activities by leveraging consumer insights, marketing data, and concept development.
Prior to this, David worked as the Director of Business Development at Hearthside Food Solutions, where they were responsible for developing new business opportunities and driving top-line sales growth. David built and maintained strong relationships with assigned accounts, including Unilever, Nestlé, and Conagra Brands.
David also held the position of Senior Director, Global Strategic Partnerships at Beyond Meat, where they developed strategic sales and marketing plans and nurtured key stakeholder relationships. David expanded Beyond Meat's product presence to 15 global markets and developed strong relationships with industry-leading QSR partners.
Earlier in their career, David was the Vice President of Global Sales at Westrock Coffee Company, where they pioneered the company's international expansion and developed a global team. David also served as the Vice President of National Accounts and Director of National Accounts, managing total accounts and achieving revenue, profit, and volume targets.
David's experience also includes roles at Sustainable Harvest Coffee Importers, where they were a Relationship Manager and International Sales Lead, and at Café Con Alma Colombia, where they co-founded the company and served as a Sales Executive.
David began their career as a Trainee in the Mergers and Acquisitions Division at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they participated in financial-accountability due diligence assessments and assisted in acquisition negotiations.
Throughout their career, David has demonstrated expertise in driving business growth, building strong relationships, and achieving sustainable and impactful results.
David Piza holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes, which they obtained between the years 2002 and 2009. After that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, completing it from 2016 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, David has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skillset, including the Food Executive Program from Cornell University in 2023, and certifications in Mastering Sales, Leading with Behavioral Science, and Delivering Business Growth, all obtained from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management between 2021 and 2023.
