Thomas Somerville

Thomas Somerville has held a range of positions in the IT and security industries. Thomas is currently a Security Researcher at GRIMM (SMFS, Inc.), a role they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Senior Security Engineer at Gordon Food Service from 2018 to 2021, and an Information Security and Risk Analyst at Byrne from 2017 to 2018. From 2013 to 2017, Thomas worked at UpNow llc as a CIO, managing the technical direction of the company's internal and client networks, training and recruiting support staff, and planning, testing, implementing, and managing client IT projects. Thomas also held a Customer Support role at Spectrum Health from 2011 to 2013, and a Security Engineer Intern role at Priority Health from 2011 to 2013, where they developed relationships with the company, tested and implemented security solutions, performed malware analysis and response, monitored logging systems, and used network forensics techniques to investigate issues.

Thomas Somerville attended Ferris State University from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Security Intelligence with a field of study in Assc. Printing and Digital Imaging Technology. Thomas then returned to Ferris State University from 2010 to 2013, where they earned an Information Security Intelligence degree with a field of study in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.
