Nivashen Naicker has a diverse work experience in the finance sector. Nivashen began their career at Deloitte South Africa as an Audit Senior from 2010 to 2012. In 2013, they joined Grindrod Bank as a Financial Manager, where they were responsible for various accounting and finance functions. Naicker then took on the role of Manager: Risk and Reporting from 2015 to 2020, where they played a significant role in establishing the bank's risk management function. Nivashen later became the Head: Risk and eventually the Chief Risk Officer in 2020. Throughout their tenure at Grindrod Bank, Naicker was involved in risk evaluation, financial analysis, regulatory reporting, and business continuity planning.

Furthermore, Nivashen obtained a National Certificate in Organisational Risk Practitioner from the IRMSA in 2018. Nivashen also completed a course on Fiduciary Duties & Investments through Investment Consulting and Trustee Services in the same year. Additionally, they participated in the Management Development Programme offered by the Stellenbosch Business School.

In 2017, Nivashen acquired a Certificate in Foundational Payments from the Payment Association of South Africa (PASA). During 2016 and 2017, they earned various certificates from Audit Excel.

Lastly, in 2014 and 2015, Nivashen pursued a National Certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments from BANK Seta, specializing in Finance.
