Vice President of Channel Development, Dalkia Energy Solutions at Dalkia Energy Solutions

Tom Engel has over 30 years of work experience in the lighting industry. Tom started their career at General Electric Lighting, where they held various sales roles, including Sr. Account Manager and National Account Manager. Tom was responsible for sales growth and building relationships with national accounts. Tom then moved on to GE, where they served as the West Region Sales Leader for the Lighting business, managing a team of 18 salespeople and achieving double-digit sales growth. Tom also held the role of National Government Sales Director, overseeing a sales team and driving sales growth in the government sector.

After their tenure at GE, Tom joined CREE LED Lighting as the Southwest Region Sales Director. Tom led sales teams and successfully grew sales from $4 million to $40 million, focusing on Solid State Lighting and emerging LED & controls technology.

Tom then joined WESCO Distribution, where they held the positions of West Region Manager and National Sales Manager for WESCO Lighting Solutions. As the West Region Manager, they recruited and built a high-performing team, achieving top-line sales growth. As the National Sales Manager, they provided strategic direction and led a $150 million sales organization, surpassing business goals and objectives. Tom developed and aligned annual business plans and utilized sales data to define metrics and establish measurables.

Currently, Tom serves as the Vice President of Channel Development at Dalkia Energy Solutions. In this role, they have Profit and Loss responsibility to develop and execute the strategic channel business plan. Tom works directly with major distributors in the U.S.

Throughout their career, Tom has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and sales expertise, driving business growth and exceeding targets in the lighting industry.

Tom Engel graduated from California State University, Chico in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in Finance / Economics. Tom went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from San Diego State University from 1997 to 1999.
