Michael Murtagh

Michael Murtagh has been working in the field of data science since 2021, when they began their current role as a Data Scientist at Groover. In this role, they are involved in the entire life-cycle of ML projects from research, model design/selection, testing, deployment and maintenance to monitoring. Michael has a particular focus on projects involving NLP, Sequential Recommendation and Reinforcement Learning to improve recommendations and to build internal tools. Prior to this role, they worked as a Data Science Intern at Groover and as a Medical Accounts Specialist at Medserv, where they were responsible for liaising daily with consultant surgeons, hospitals and insurance companies, as well as processing and submitting claims.

Michael Murtagh completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Theoretical Physics from Trinity College Dublin in 2019. Michael then went on to obtain their M.Sc in Mathematical Physics from Université de Bourgogne in 2020.
