Mike Gavich

Mike Gavich is the VP of Engineering at GroupBy. Prior to joining GroupBy, Mike was the Head of Engineering at Statys Tech where they delivered an innovative technology to the market. Mike has also built an engineering organization from the ground up, covering the entire functional spectrum from software design and development to quality assurance, devops, cloud infrastructure and solution operations.

In their role as Head of Engineering at Statys Tech, Mike developed a fully functional, integrated and market-ready product MVP in 5 months, enabling early client adoption and revenue generation. Mike also spearheaded the architecture design of the cutting-edge SaaS product based on dynamic services of AWS cloud platform using Spring Boot microservices in EKS Cluster, Aurora DB and React-Redux to support scale for over 50,000 transactions from the global client base.

Under Mike's leadership, the engineering team at Statys Tech was successful in delivering reliable and efficient solution development services, reducing overall people costs by 50% compared to a fully local team. Mike partnered with the Product Development and Business Operations teams to achieve a ‘one team’ mentality, increasing communication effectiveness while eliminating pain-points and the necessity for re-work.

Mike established a reliable SDLC process based on industry standard agile practices with ongoing quality management and continuous process improvement. This greatly reduced the number of Sprint spillovers and enabled predictable feature delivery velocity.

Mike Gavich holds a M. Sc. in Computer Science from Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (Technical University).
