Florian Buchter

Florian Buchter has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of energy efficiency and technology innovation. Florian started their career in 1998 as a Research Engineer at HEIG-VD, where they focused on solar adsorption refrigeration. Florian then pursued their PhD in Physics at EMPA and the University of Fribourg, conducting research on the structure and dynamics of complex hydrides. After completing their PhD, they joined ABB Corporate Research as a Scientist.

In 2011, Florian joined Groupe E as a Product Manager Energy Efficiency and later became the Manager Energy Efficiency. Florian also worked at Groupe E Greenwatt as the Head of Energy Efficiency. In 2016, Florian joined EnergieSchweiz as the Head of the Secretariat, overseeing various responsibilities related to energy efficiency.

Florian's most recent role is as the Head of Innovation and Technology Watch at Groupe E since 2020. Overall, Florian's work experience demonstrates a strong background in energy efficiency and a focus on innovation and technology advancement in the energy sector.

Florian Buchter has an extensive education history. Florian obtained their Executive MBA in Management in Technology from Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg in the years 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they pursued their academic interests in Physics at the same institution, completing their Dr. rer. nat. degree from 2005 to 2009 and their Master's degree from 2000 to 2005. Florian Buchter's educational journey started earlier, as they earned their Bachelor's degree in Thermal Engineering from HEIG-VD in the years 1994 to 1998. Florian began their education in mechanics and electrotechnics, earning a Professional Baccalaureate from the Technical School in Yverdon-les-Bains between 1991 and 1994.
