Peter Cuony's work experience begins in 2006 when they worked as a researcher at the EPFL, specializing in photovoltaics. During this time, they focused on developing new materials to enhance the efficiency of thin film silicon solar cells. In addition, Peter published their findings in various scientific journals and collaborated on three patents.
In 2011, Peter joined Groupe E Connect SA as the Head of Photovoltaic Installations. In this role, they oversaw sales, project management, and profitability for the company's photovoltaic installations. Under their leadership, the turnover tripled, the number of yearly sales increased sixfold, and the team completed over 1,000 PV plants. Peter was recognized for their ability to motivate their team and their visionary leadership.
Moving on from Groupe E Connect SA, Peter joined Groupe E SA in 2017 as the Head of Smart Grid Solutions. Peter became a member of the management team for the electrical grid division and was responsible for formulating and initiating the smart grid strategy. By implementing this strategy, Peter aimed to transform the electrical grid into a facilitator of the energy transition. Peter spearheaded numerous projects in areas such as data analytics, smart grid components, and customer experience.
Most recently, in 2022, Peter assumed the position of Head of Products for the electricity distribution division at Groupe E. In this role, they are focused on making the electrical grid an effective platform for various stakeholders to participate in and contribute to the energy transition. This involves implementing new technologies and services, such as grid tariffs and offerings, to enable consumers, producers, and prosumers to actively engage in the energy transition.
Peter Cuony's education history is as follows:
From 1996 to 2001, Peter attended Gymnasium Bern-Kirchenfeld where they earned their Matura degree in Typus C.
In 1997 and 1998, Peter studied at High-School Garwin and obtained their Graduation certificate.
From 2001 to 2006, Peter pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne).
In 2003 and 2004, Peter also had a brief period of study at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, focusing on Electrical Engineering.
From 2019 to 2020, Peter attended two programs; Rochester-Bern Executive Programs and the University of Rochester - William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration. Peter obtained an Executive MBA and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, but the field of study for these degrees is not specified.
