Head of Engineering at Growth Intelligence

Andrew Kelly has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles.

At Growth Intelligence, Andrew served as the Head of Engineering, overseeing a team of software engineers who worked on data engineering pipelines, code libraries, backend REST APIs, and full-stack web applications.

Prior to that, they worked at ITV as a Data Engineering Manager, leading a team of six data engineers responsible for developing the data analytics platform for the ITV Hub streaming player and BritBox.

Andrew also held the role of Delivery Manager at YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP, where they recruited and led a new team of permanent staff to take over from contractors. Their team developed and maintained customizations to the CoreMedia CMS.

As the Chief Technology Officer at Bet Buddy, a start-up providing Responsible Gambling analytics software, Andrew had a broad remit to drive the company forward from a technical perspective. The software analyzed the playing and spending patterns of online gamblers to determine those most at risk of problem gambling.

Earlier in their career, Andrew worked at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe as a Technical Lead Developer. Andrew developed and maintained systems supporting the digital supply chain and financial processing for the PlayStation Network. Additionally, they served as a Scrum Master for the BAU/Support team, focusing on reducing ad-hoc releases and improving the team's throughput.

Andrew began their professional journey as a Junior Java Developer at Sun Microsystems during a one-year internship. Andrew worked on developing Java web applications and contributed to the prototype for a system for processing real-time proactive checking of server configuration, which later became Sun System Analysis.

Andrew Kelly attended the University of Kent from 2000 to 2004, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science with a Year in Industry. During their time at the university, their field of study focused on Computer Science. In 2014, Andrew received certification in Japanese language proficiency, specifically at Level N5, from The Japan Foundation.
