Selina Solomon

Data Scientist at Growth Intelligence

Selina Solomon has a diverse range of work experience in the field of data science and computational neuroscience. Selina started their career as a Research Computer Programmer at the University of Sydney in 2009, where they analyzed neural signals to understand the perception of visual motion. Selina then worked as a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney from 2011 to 2015, where they investigated how the brain encodes the perception of visual motion and published several papers on the topic.

After completing their PhD, Selina worked as a Research Associate at the University of Western Sydney and Save Sight Institute in 2015. In these roles, they performed statistical and data analyses on neural signals to understand color perception and contribute to publications and presentations.

Selina then joined the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as a Computational Neuroscientist from 2015 to 2019. In this role, they applied statistical and computational methods to study how the brain encodes attention, expectation, and context in visual perception. Selina also implemented a novel optogenetic technique in the lab, demonstrating their technical expertise.

In 2019, Selina took part in the Science to Data Science program, where they were a Data Science Fellow. Selina gained experience and skills in data science during this time. Selina also worked as a Data Scientist at Growth Intelligence in the same year.

Selina's work experience reflects their passion for research and data analysis in the fields of computational neuroscience and data science. Selina has a strong publication record and valuable technical skills in statistical analysis, machine learning, and signal processing.

Selina Solomon's education history begins in 2005 when they enrolled at Imperial College London. Selina pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering and completed their studies in 2009. Afterward, they attended the University of Sydney from 2011 to 2014, where they pursued a PhD in Experimental Neuroscience.

In addition to their formal education, Selina also obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. Selina completed courses such as Sequence Models, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing, all offered by Coursera. The certifications were obtained in December 2021, June 2021, and December 2020, respectively.

Moreover, Selina also completed a program called Science to Data Science: S2DS London 2019, which was conducted by Pivigo. Selina received this certification in September 2019.
