Laurence Holmes-Smith has a diverse work experience in the food industry. They began their career as an Operations Manager at Pasta Evangelists in December 2018, where they played a vital role in launching a new sales channel and managing operations and commercial functions across delivery-only dark kitchens. Their efforts led to rapid growth in sites across London and they were even shortlisted for Deliveroo's 'Best Newcomer of the Year' in 2020. In 2021, Laurence became a Founder Associate at Growth Kitchen, where they continue to contribute their skills and expertise.

Laurence Holmes-Smith completed their education with a Bachelor's Degree from Durham University, where they attended from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended The Henley College, Henley-on-Thames, from 2011 to 2013, where they pursued the International Baccalaureate in Sixth Form College. Their secondary education was completed at Icknield Community College, Watlington, from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained their GCSEs.
