Karin Nemec has extensive work experience in various roles, starting in 2001 as a Senior Consultant for Transaction Advisory Services at Grant Thornton Rimess - Estonia. Karin then joined Swedbank in 2004, where they held several positions including Financial Markets Product Specialist, Head of Corporate Cash Management, Division Director for the Factoring business line, and Division Director for Corporate Products. During their time at Swedbank, Karin made history by becoming the first female acting head of corporate banking at the age of 33. In 2013, they founded ZeroToOne and served as the Founder, Investment Manager, and Values-based Investor. Most recently, Karin started Grünfin in 2020, where they serve as the Founder & CEO. Grünfin is a sustainable investing platform that aims to make impact-driven investing easy and accessible for people who care about their impact.
Karin Nemec attended the University of Tartu from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance & International Economics. Karin then pursued further education and completed a Global Executive MBA program from the IESE Business School in 2010 and 2011. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in 2020. In 2018, they completed a course titled "Strategy and Sustainability" at the IESE Business School. Prior to that, in 2017, they obtained a certification called "Social Impact Strategy: Tools for Entrepreneurs and Innovators" from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2006, they also earned a Certified Expert in International Cash Management certification from the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
