Mrs. Laura González-Molero has a degree in Pharmacy, industrial specialty, from the Complutense University of Madrid and an Executive MBA from the IE Business School. She has more than 25 years of experience working in large international corporations in the Healthcare and Chemical sectors.
She began her professional career in 1989 at the Roche pharmaceutical company, in the commercial department, and gradually assumed responsibilities until reaching the position of commercial director for Spain and Portugal.
In 2006, she joined Guerbet as general manager, establishing the company in Spain to develop the business in this new territory. She has held various executive positions at Schering Plough and Serono Biotech where she rose to the responsibilities of President for Northern and Southern Europe. She successfully led the integration of the German Merck Group with Serono, becoming the Group's new CEO in Spain. In December 2011 she was promoted to the position of President of Latin America based in Brazil, in 2014 she assumed the Presidency of Bayer HealthCare LatAm based in the USA until December 2016.
Among the recognitions and awards received, it is worth mentioning that Ms. González-Molero was the first woman to receive the Madrid Chamber of Commerce Award for Executive of the year 2007. The last recognition received was in January 2016, “Talent Executive” III Edition of Cincodias & Manpower. Likewise, she is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Adecco Foundation, ISS Iberia Advisory Council, Ellevate Networks, IWF and was a member of the ApD National Council for eight years.
Currently, she is an independent director of Bankia SA, Viscofan SA and Acerinox SA where she chairs the Appointments, Remuneration and Good Governance Committee. Her extensive experience in markets as well as her continuous search for excellence, entrenched in prestigious business schools such as IE, Kelloggs, IMD, INSEAD and Harvard Business School, have led her to become a leader of recognized prestige, an expert in strategy and business transformation as well as Corporate Governance in Europe and Latin America.
