Alexis Marquez has extensive work experience in the hotel industry. Alexis started their career in 2004 as a Front Office Manager at La Pleta Hotel & Spa. Alexis then went on to work at S'Algar Hotels as an Operations Manager, where they gained experience in general hotel operations, quality control, and budget tracking. In 2007, they joined Hoteles Catalonia and held various roles, including Assistant Director, Resident Manager, and Resort Manager. During their time at Hoteles Catalonia, they were involved in customer satisfaction, personnel management, budget control, and implementing operational processes. In 2014, they worked as a Resort Manager at Azul Fives Hotel. Alexis also served as a Hotel Director at Hotel B Cozumel, Papaya Playa Project, and Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe, where they were responsible for the complete management and operations of the properties. Throughout their career, Alexis Marquez has demonstrated their expertise in hotel operations, budget management, quality control, and implementing continuous improvement processes.

Alexis Marquez has an extensive education history. In 1997, they obtained a Diplomatura in Licenciado en Gestion de Empresas y Actividades Turísticas from Universitat de les Illes Balears. They further pursued their education by completing a Master en Gestión Turística in Gestíon de empresa Turística at EADA Business School from 2001 to 2002. Later, in 2005 to 2006, Alexis Marquez attended EADA Business School again to pursue a Postgrado in Gestión de Restauración.

In 2010 and 2011, Alexis Marquez attended Cornell University for intensive courses. They completed a Curso Intensivo in Leading & Motivating People in the Real World in 2010, and a Curso Intensivo in Building & Leading Service Focused Teams in 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Alexis Marquez obtained a certification in Autoridad, Dirección y Liderazgo from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in April 2017.
