Firnas Ata Ur Rehman, BS, MPhil, DHA, ASM, MLTAP

Firnas Ata Ur Rehman has a strong background in laboratory work, with experience in various roles and responsibilities. In 2014, Firnas worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, where they focused on the prevalence and antibiotic susceptibility of urinary tract pathogens.

In 2016, Firnas worked as a Postgraduate Researcher at the Influenza Research Laboratory, conducting research on influenza virus, CCHF, and rabies virus. During this time, they performed various tests and experiments to study these viruses and their effects.

Firnas then joined the Punjab Public Health Reference Laboratory, Punjab AIDS Control Program as a Consultant Molecular Biologist in 2017. In this role, they handled the day-to-day running of real-time PCR detection for various viruses and played a key role in processing PCR samples.

In 2018, Firnas became the Laboratory Incharge at the Punjab Hepatitis Reference Laboratory and Research Center, Hepatitis and Infection Control Program. Firnas successfully managed the processing of over 300,000 PCR samples of HBV and HCV, implementing effective workflow systems to increase daily throughput.

From 2020 to 2021, Firnas worked as the Molecular Laboratory Incharge at Al Khidmat Lab Lahore. Here, they executed and implemented standard operating procedures for the extraction of viral RNA and conducted validation and proficiency testing of various COVID testing kits.

Currently, Firnas is working as an Independent Laboratory Technician at Gryphon Scientific LLC, starting in 2023.

Firnas Ata Ur Rehman has a strong educational background in the field of microbiology. Firnas earned their Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, with a focus on general microbiology, from the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) at The University of Lahore from 2011 to 2015. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Microbiology from the Department of Microbiology at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore. Firnas completed their Master's Degree from 2016 to 2018, further specializing in the field of microbiology. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Firnas Ata Ur Rehman completed their high school education at S.K.B.Z.A Pakistani school and college in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with a focus on pre-medicine/pre-medical studies from 2009 to 2011.
