Richard Manaton is an experienced executive with extensive expertise in operations, marketing, and strategy within the food and beverage industry. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at GS1 New Zealand since January 2016, Richard focuses on empowering organizations to enhance efficiency and sustainability through standardized systems. Prior to this role, Richard was General Manager of Strategy and Corporate Affairs at Progressive Enterprises Ltd, overseeing Countdown Supermarkets, and held key marketing positions at New Zealand Dairy Foods Ltd and Fonterra Co-operative Group. Richard’s early career includes notable roles at Britvic Soft Drinks, Manor Bakeries Limited, Goodman Fielder Wattie Ltd, and UEB Industries Ltd. Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from The University of Auckland, obtained in 1983.
