Jasiel Legon, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has a diverse and extensive work experience in the financial services industry. From 1995 to 2003, they served as Vice President of Premier Banking & Investments at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. After that, they joined Chase as Vice President of Retail Banking from 2003 to 2004. In 2004, Jasiel took on the role of Vice President of HR Shared Services at Popular Bank, where they led a team responsible for various HR functions. Jasiel then moved to Oportun in 2012 as the Head of People & Culture, overseeing the company's HR and cultural initiatives. Currently, Jasiel is the SVP and Chief People Officer at GTE Financial, a credit union based in Tampa Bay, where they focus on developing and nurturing the talent within the organization.

Jasiel Legon, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Broadcasting from Columbia College Chicago. Jasiel also earned a Master of Arts degree in Organization Development & Performance Improvement and a Graduate Certificate in Performance Consulting from Roosevelt University.

In 2017, Jasiel Legon attended the University of Virginia Darden School of Business for the CUES CEO Institute: Executive Education Strategic Leadership Development program. The following year, they participated in the CUES CEO Institute: Executive Education Strategic Planning program at The Wharton School's Aresty Institute of Executive Education.

For their ongoing professional development, Jasiel Legon pursued further executive education at Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Business for the CUES CEO Institute: Executive Education Organizational Effectiveness program, starting in 2019.

In terms of certifications, Jasiel Legon obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in May 2015. Jasiel also holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI, which they obtained in January 2013.
