Kathryn Waugh has a wealth of experience in the childcare and education field, spanning over two decades. Kathryn started their career as a kindergarten teacher at Koala Kids Child Care Centre in 1993. Kathryn also worked as a primary school teacher for the Queensland Department of Education in 1995. Kathryn then joined Teddy House Early Childhood Learning Centre in 1996, where they served as a preschool teacher and assistant centre manager until 1999. Kathryn continued their career as a validator for the National Childcare Accreditation Council from 1999 to 2003.

In 2000, they became the centre manager at Teddy House Early Learning Centre, where they successfully managed the center until 2003. Kathryn then joined Teddies Nurseries Ltd in 2003 as a centre manager until 2004. Kathryn further extended their expertise as the director of quality development at Casterbridge Care and Education from 2004 to 2009.

Kathryn's dedication to quality and curriculum led their to join Guardian Childcare & Education in 2014, where they held various roles. Kathryn started as a quality and compliance manager for the NSW region and later became a curriculum mentor from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, they were promoted to head of curriculum, responsible for overseeing the educational programs across multiple locations. Most recently, Kathryn served as the chief quality and curriculum officer, overseeing company-wide quality and curriculum initiatives starting in June 2017.

Kathryn Waugh pursued their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from 1991 to 1993 at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), specializing in Primary Teaching with a major in Early Years Education. Following this, they obtained a Graduate Diploma in Educational Management from QUT in 1999. Later, Kathryn completed their Master of Education (M.Ed.) focusing on Early Years Education at QUT from 2003 to 2006.
