Ashley Kirk is a seasoned visual journalist with extensive experience in producing impactful visual storytelling. Currently serving as Visuals Editor at The Guardian since May 2020, Ashley leads the creation of both quick-turnaround and long-term visual journalism projects. Previously, as Visual Projects Editor at The Guardian, Ashley focused on identifying and executing visual narratives for various news stories. In addition to media roles, Ashley has been a Visiting Lecturer at City, University of London since September 2016, teaching Master's students data-driven storytelling techniques. Ashley's background includes significant positions at The Telegraph, where data journalism projects enhanced audience engagement, and earlier work at City AM and Guardian News & Media, which involved delivering data-led stories and visualizations. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Interactive Journalism from City St George’s, University of London, and a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Birmingham.
