Eleni Courea is a seasoned political correspondent currently working at The Guardian since January 2024. Prior to this role, Eleni served as the Deputy London Playbook Editor at POLITICO Europe from January 2022 to December 2023 and worked as a political reporter at The Times from February 2020 to January 2022. Eleni has also contributed as a political reporter on fixed-term contracts for various outlets including The Observer, New Statesman, The Times, and Politico between October 2018 and February 2020, following participation in the Anthony Howard fellowship for young journalists. Earlier experience includes a reporter position at *Research from October 2016 to July 2018 and an internship at Cyprus Mail in late 2014. Eleni holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, completed in June 2016, and attended The English School in Nicosia from 2006 to 2013.
