Roman Lihhavtshuk has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Starting in 2012, they worked as an Intern UI/UX Designer at IBM. Roman then moved on to Trinidad Wiseman, where they continued their internship as a UI/UX Designer. In 2013, they also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Aalto University, organizing and facilitating courses on sustainable societies.
In 2014, Roman became a Full-stack Designer & Co-founder at LUK Design, where they designed user interfaces for IBM's big data analytics applications and led design projects for various web applications and clients. Roman also worked on video production and sustainability communications.
In 2017, Roman joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies as a Communication Designer, focusing on infographics and visual communications projects. Roman then transitioned to F-Secure Corporation as a Senior UX Designer and later became a Design System Manager and Design Manager, responsible for managing design projects and workflows.
In 2021, Roman worked as a UX Consultant at LEGID and in 2022, they became a Design Manager at WithSecure. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Product Designer at Guardsquare.
Roman Lihhavtshuk completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design at the Estonian Academy of Arts from 2006 to 2010. Roman later pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Creative Sustainability from Aalto University between 2011 and 2015. In 2008 and 2009, they also had the opportunity to study as an exchange student at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee - Hochschule für Gestaltung, focusing on Design and Visual Communications. Roman attended the Estonian Business School in 2009 and 2010 through their Open Academy program, taking courses in Marketing and Branding.
In 2016 and 2017, Roman pursued a Further Qualification for Entrepreneurs at Rastor Helsinki. More recently, in 2019, they participated in an Open University program at Aalto University, specializing in Software Engineering.
Roman has also earned several certifications. In 2021, they obtained certifications in UX Research for Agile Teams, Design Thinking: Customer Experience, Systems Thinking, and Writing Articles through LinkedIn. In 2020, they completed the online course "Mastering systems thinking in practice" offered by The Open University.
