Jens-Markus Wegener is a Senior Consultant at Guesstimate and a successful music publisher. Jens-Markus has over 30 years of experience in the music industry and has been involved in many different aspects of the business. Wegener started their career in 1987 when they founded their own promotion and marketing company, Public Propaganda. Three years later, they developed the DDC-Clubcharts, which became Europe’s most influential charts to identify trends in the explosively growing dance scene. In the same year, they also founded the music publishing company “AMV Alster Musikverlag” and a couple of years later, the dancelabels USS and LME – records.

In the early 2000s, they initiated the German Dance Awards (GDA) and became a board member at „Deutscher Musikverleger Verband“ (DMV), the German Musicpublisher´s Association. In 2005, AMV´s published newcomer band VIVID was honored with the ECHO award for the best debut album of the year. The publishing jointventure „AMV Talpa“, which was formed in 2006 with the Dutch media company Talpa Music, placed various tracks on several number 1-albums in the USA, France, Japan and Germany. Two years later, AMV Talpa was listed under the top 10 of the most successful music publishers in Germany.

In 2012, Wegener successfully sold the rights to their music catalog to German Publisher Budde Music. In January 2013, they got appointed as Managing Director at IMAGEM Music GmbH, and started to build up the German branch of the biggest independent publisher in the world. With newly signed German HipHop star FLER Jens continued their successful career and entered German sales charts at number 1 in February 2015 to make IMAGEM Music GmbH the Top 7 publisher in Germany. Based on their success as a musicpublisher American business publication „A&R Worldwide“ nominated Jens-Markus Wegener for „Worldwide Publisher of the year 2016“. At the MusExpo 2016 which took place in Hollywood USA Wegener eventually received their award marking a highlight in their longlasting career.

When Imagem was sold to Concord Music Jens-Markus Wegener decided to leave the company at the end of 2017 to join Publishing Powerhouse Meisel Music in 2018 to lead all of their publishing activities

Jens-Markus Wegener's educational career began at Gymnasium Hillmannplatz in Bremen, where they studied English and Theirtory. Jens-Markus then went on to study at Leibniz Universität Hannover, where they earned their Abitur.
