Jacob Bruns is an experienced science educator and researcher with a robust background in astrophysics and planetary sciences. Currently serving as the Weekend Administrator and Science Instructor at Astrocamp since January 2016, Jacob coordinates program schedules and teaches hands-on science and engineering to students from 3rd to 12th grade. Jacob's prior experience includes working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, where research focused on planet formation and n-body simulations, as well as serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for an introductory astronomy course. Jacob holds a Master's degree in Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a focus on Astrophysics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Early career experience at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago laid the foundation for a passion for science education.
