Carol Sanders

Carol Sanders is an accomplished financial executive and board member with extensive experience across multiple organizations. Currently serving as Lead Independent Director at Alliant Energy since May 2019, Carol has held various leadership roles on the board, including chairing the Nominating and Governance, Audit, and Compensation Committees. Additionally, at RenaissanceRe Holdings, Ltd., Carol is the chair of the Audit Committee, while also chairing the Audit Committee at First Business. As a member of the board at GuideOne Insurance, Carol leads the Risk Committee. Previous roles include Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer at Sentry Insurance, as well as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company. Carol holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Economics from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
