Katie Turner has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Katie started their career in 2001 as a Customer Service Representative at National City Bank, where they excelled in building rapport with customers and achieved recognition for credit card sales. In 2006, they worked as a Media Research Intern at Square Digital in London, UK, focusing on general research projects within a marketing and advertising agency. From 2008 to 2014, Katie served as a Catastrophe Claims Complex Loss Adjuster at Allstate, handling complex property claims across the United States. Katie then joined Great American Insurance Group in 2014, initially as a Senior Underwriter and later as a Senior Production Underwriter for their Specialty Human Services Division. During their time there, they analyzed financial and risk data to identify hazards and exposures for human and social service organizations. In 2019, Katie moved to GuideOne Insurance, first taking on the role of Senior Underwriting Specialist and then progressing to Nonprofit Human Services Lead Underwriter. In this position, they managed a specialized book of business, mentored underwriters, and advised on technical systems and processes. Currently, Katie is serving as the Portfolio Management Lead at GuideOne Insurance, where they are responsible for leading a team and managing a portfolio of nonprofit and education risks in the Southeast territory.

Katie Turner obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Xavier University from 2004 to 2007. In 2006, they participated in the Hansard Scholars Program Summer 2006 at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), focusing on British Government & UK Public Policy. Katie also briefly studied Art/Art Studies, General at London Metropolitan University in 2005. Prior to their higher education, they attended Wilmington High School from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, Katie has obtained various certifications, including an Associate in Commercial Underwriting - Management (AU-M) from The Institutes in 2019, a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from The Institutes in 2017, and CPCU in Good Standing in December 2021. Katie is also a candidate for Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) through The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and holds the designation of Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA).
