Patrick Olsen has a diverse work experience spanning various research and management roles. Patrick began their career as a Health Extension Volunteer in the Peace Corps, where they focused on community health projects and conducted nutrition education classes. Patrick then worked as a Nutrition Section Intern at UNICEF, where they conducted an in-depth literature review and contributed to the assessment of community and local governments' capacities for improving nutrition. Patrick then joined Tulane University as a Graduate Research Assistant, conducting research on public health, nutrition, and communicable and non-communicable diseases in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.
Patrick went on to work at FHI 360 as a Research Associate, where they served as principal investigator and data analyst for various research projects on family planning and HIV service integration. Patrick designed studies and questionnaires, managed study implementation, and conducted quantitative analyses. At RTI International, Patrick was a Survey Specialist responsible for managing and monitoring international projects, overseeing survey implementation, and providing capacity development in lower and middle-income countries.
Patrick later joined Industry Standard Research (ISR Reports) as a Market Research Manager before joining Cerner Enviza as an Evidence Generation Lead in Real World Evidence. In these roles, they contributed to market research and evidence generation initiatives.
Most recently, Patrick has been working at Guidepoint as a Market Research Manager, applying their expertise in market research to support the company's goals.
Throughout their career, Patrick has demonstrated a strong research background, expertise in data analysis, and a commitment to improving public health and nutrition outcomes.
Patrick Olsen earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Global Health Systems and Development from Tulane University, where they studied from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Dietetics/Dietitian at the University of Northern Colorado, from 2005 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in "Analysis of Survey Data from Complex Survey Designs" from The Institute for Statistics Education at Statistics.com in October 2016.
