Derek Westbrook

Derek Westbrook serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Guilderland Central School District since September 2023, and is the Founder and Managing Member of Pathfinder Consulting, LLC since December 2015, offering educational programs and services focused on college and career readiness and diversity. Prior roles include Director of KIPP Forward at KIPP Capital Region Public Schools, where responsibilities involved overseeing the KIPP Through College program, and Academic Specialist at the Social Enterprise and Training Center. Derek has held various academic positions, such as Associate Director at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Executive Director of Academic Support Programs at The College of New Jersey. Educational credentials include an ABD in Education Administration and Policy Studies from the University at Albany, a Master’s in Black Culture Studies from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor’s in Africana Studies from the University at Albany.
