Amanda came to GMRI in October of 2021, joining the Quantitative Fisheries Research Lab as a postdoctoral research associate to work on climate-integrated stock assessments.
At GMRI, Amanda focuses on integrating climate information into stock assessments and fisheries management. In this position, she led work to develop Woods Hole Assessment Models for American plaice and continues to contribute to research track stock assessment efforts for Atlantic cod.
She received a BS in Marine Science and Biology from the University of Miami in 2016. Amanda then moved to Massachusetts to pursue a PhD at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. During grad school, she worked to develop Management Strategy Evaluation frameworks to assess the performance of management alternatives for fisheries in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions. Amanda is currently a PhD candidate working to wrap up the final pieces of her dissertation while working at GMRI.
