Kelly Canesi

Kelly joined GMRI in December of 2019 as a Grant Writer and transitioned to the role of Foundation Relations Manager in July of 2021. In this position, she is the lead strategist and relationship manager for GMRI’s foundation and corporate donors. She also contributes to the development of content for GMRI’s social media platforms.

Kelly has worked in the fields of research, communications, and philanthropy to develop and support cutting-edge marine science research programs. As a Masters student at the University of Rhode Island, Kelly studied coastal marine ecology and phytoplankton population dynamics in Narragansett Bay.
