Michele Larson

Michele Larson has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Michele started their career as a Web Engineer at GumGum in August 2015, where they worked on projects such as GumGum Visual Intelligence and AdBuilder. Michele also built and maintained APIs, designed user interfaces, and created JavaScript widgets. In August 2016, Michele was promoted to Senior Engineering Manager and led the Advertising Applications Engineering team, managing 11 engineers in the development of JavaScript web applications and Java/Kotlin APIs. Michele coached a diverse team of in-office, remote, and contract engineers located in multiple countries. In August 2019, they were promoted to Director of Engineering, where they led the Advertising Applications Engineering teams and took on a Product role when necessary, driving the requirements, execution, and rollout of key projects. During this time, they also created a process and support portal to streamline engineering requests from stakeholders. In July 2023, Michele was promoted to Senior Director of Engineering, a role they currently hold at GumGum. Prior to GumGum, Michele worked as a Product Engineer at CARD.com, where they designed and built user interfaces and developed the email marketing program.

Michele Larson holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Advertising (Media Planning) and Business from Marist College. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained a certification in S101: ScyllaDB Essentials – Overview of ScyllaDB and NoSQL Basics from ScyllaDB in August 2023.
