Hugh Hurley

Hugh Hurley has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries.

Starting in 2007, they worked as an MBA Consultant at AREVA before moving on to become a Research Analyst at CRU in 2008.

In 2010, Hurley joined De Beers Group, first as a Senior Analyst in Strategy and Corporate Finance, then transitioning into the role of Corporate Finance Manager. Hugh later became the Senior Manager of Corporate Development and eventually rose to the position of General Manager from 2017 to 2019.

Afterward, in 2019, Hurley joined Spotahome as the Head of Business Operations for the UK and Ireland until 2020.

Currently, they are associated with Gumtree.com, where they served as the Head of Onsite Trading from 2020 to 2021, then assumed the role of Chief Commercial Officer in 2021, before becoming the Chief Executive Officer in 2022.

Hugh Hurley completed their undergraduate education at the University of Cambridge from 2003 to 2007, earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental and Structural Engineering (MEng). Following this, they pursued further education at Collège des Ingénieurs from 2007 to 2008, obtaining a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business. In addition to their formal education, Hugh Hurley also obtained a certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute in June 2013.
