Mike Gunter

Founding Partner at Gunter Group

Mike Gunter is the founding partner of The Gunter Group, LLC. Mike has over 25 years of experience in executive leadership roles in both the private and public sector.

Gunter began their career as an Industrial Engineer with MAI before transitioning into management consulting with Deloitte Consulting. In 2000, they became Vice President of Consulting for FacilityPro.com. The following year, they took on the role of Vice President for Rubbernetwork.com. In 2005, they joined Point B as a Senior Associate.

In 2009, Gunter was recruited by Portland Public Schools to serve as their Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mike was responsible for leading the Finance organization, which included Budget, Accounting, Payroll, Procurement, Warehouse/Distribution, and Risk Management. Mike also served on the executive team and had significant interaction with the Board of Education. Initially, they assumed leadership of both operations and financial departments as COO and CFO when department leaders left the organization. Mike acted as interim COO until a permanent executive was named.

Gunter has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from the University of Oregon.

Mike Gunter has a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management.
