Edward Gero is an accomplished actor and professor with extensive experience in theater. Currently, Gero portrays Leonato in "Much Ado About Nothing" at the Shakespeare Theatre Company and has held a long-term position as a professional actor at Arena Stage since 2014, marked by notable roles such as Justice Antonin Scalia in "The Originalist" and Ben Hubbard in "The Little Foxes." Gero's work includes performances at prestigious venues like the Folger Shakespeare Library and Ford's Theatre, and Edward has been a resident company member with the Shakespeare Theatre Company since 1983, participating in over 70 productions. In academia, Gero serves as a Professor of Theatre at George Mason University, where Gero has also held the title of Associate Professor and Head of the Performance Area. Gero holds a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Speech and Theater from Montclair State University.
