Nenad Uzelac

Global Research Director at G&W Electric

Nenad Uzelac has extensive work experience in the electrical engineering field. Nenad started their career as a Research Associate at the Electrical Engineering Institute "Nikola Tesla" in 1996, where they participated in the development and testing of analog and digital controllers for power generating plants. Nenad also tested and troubleshooted rectifiers and UPS systems in power utilities. In 1999, they joined G&W Electric Co. as an R&D switchgear engineer and later became the R&D Switchgear team leader. In 2015, they took on the role of Industry Affairs and Technology Manager at G&W Electric Co., and in 2017, they were promoted to Global Research Director. In addition to their roles at G&W Electric Co., Uzelac has also been involved in various leadership positions at CIGRE and its study committees. Nenad served as the Chair of CIGRE SC A3 in 2018 and has been the Chair of the A3 study committee at CIGRE since the same year. Nenad has also served as the Convener of working groups within CIGRE, such as A3.32 and A3.24, focusing on non-invasive condition assessment methods for transmission and distribution switchgear and the effects of internal arc inside MV/HV switchgear, respectively.

Nenad Uzelac's education history begins in 1988 when they enrolled at the University of Belgrade and pursued a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with a focus on Power Engineering. Nenad completed their studies in 1995. In 2002, Nenad attended Northwestern University, where they obtained a Master of Product Design and Development degree between 2002 and 2004. Nenad's most recent educational endeavor took place in 2022 and 2023 when they attended The Wharton School. There, they pursued an executive education program in CTO technology officer, although the field of study is unspecified.
