Jennifer O'Carroll has over 25 years of work experience in finance and accounting. Jennifer started their career at Harvard Developments Limited as an Assistant Controller, where they completed full-cycle accounting for institutionally owned office, industrial, and retail assets. Jennifer also managed the commercial recoveries sub-system and developed a database to track utility consumption for each asset.

After working at Harvard Developments Limited, Jennifer joined Argon Group Ltd. as an Assistant Controller. In this role, they completed full-cycle accounting for condominium corporations, multi-family rental complexes, and rental pools. Jennifer also supervised a team of five individuals and administrated basic treasury functions.

Jennifer then moved on to GWL Realty Advisors, where they held various finance and accounting positions. Jennifer started as a Senior Real Estate Accountant, where they implemented structured processes for month-end, year-end, billing, forecasting, and budgeting for the Prairie Region. Jennifer also established salary and overhead expense methodologies and was a member of a national software implementation team.

Throughout their years at GWL Realty Advisors, Jennifer took on roles such as Manager, Real Estate Accounting, Regional Controller, Director of Finance for the Prairie Region, and Senior Director of Finance for the Prairie Region. In these roles, they accomplished tasks such as developing and implementing a succession plan, redesigning budget processes, managing accounting and administration for acquisitions and dispositions of commercial assets, and leading project implementations.

In their most recent role as the Senior Director of Regional Finance, Jennifer led the Regional Commercial and Residential Finance Teams across Canada. Jennifer focused on maximizing the use of Yardi Voyager 7S and standardizing processes nationally. Jennifer also played a key role in developing new accounting structures, managing team right-sizing, and redesigning development project reporting and costs forecasting.

Jennifer O'Carroll, B. Admin, CPA, CMA, has a comprehensive education history that spans several years. Jennifer completed their Bachelor of Administration degree in Accounting at the University of Regina from 1987 to 1993. In 2012 and 2013, they pursued a Business Process Management Extension Certificate at Mount Royal University. In 2020, Jennifer participated in the Innovation and Technology Executive Program at CPA Alberta.

Jennifer has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. Jennifer became a Chartered Professional Accountant through CPA Alberta in July 2015. In October 1995, they obtained their Certified Management Accountant designation from the Society of Certified Management Accountants of Canada. In January 2006, they became a Real Estate Associate through the Real Estate Council of Alberta. Additionally, Jennifer holds a Facilities Management Administrator certification from BOMI International, which they obtained in 2011.
