Cynthia Dowd is a distinguished academic with a long-standing career in chemistry education and research. Since August 2007, Cynthia has held various positions at The George Washington University, advancing from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and currently serving as a Professor of Chemistry. Prior to this role, Cynthia was a Research Fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 2001 to 2007 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania from 1999 to 2001. Cynthia's academic journey began at Virginia Commonwealth University, where a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry was earned between 1994 and 1999, after obtaining a BA in Chemistry from the University of Virginia from 1989 to 1993.
