Renee McPhatter

Renee McPhatter serves as the Assistant Vice President for Government and Community Relations at The George Washington University since July 2011, where responsibilities include directing strategic objectives for governmental and community relations. Prior to this role, Renee was the Deputy Director of the Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs for the Executive Office of Mayor Adrian Fenty from January 2007 to January 2009, representing the Mayor in legislative matters. Earlier experience includes working as the Associate Director of the National Government Relations Department at the American Cancer Society and as a Committee Clerk on the Council of the District of Columbia, where legislative drafting and policy analysis were key responsibilities. Renee McPhatter holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Law (JD) from The University of Texas at Austin.
