Javier Avitia

Javier Avitia is a Full Stack Engineer at H Code. Prior to their current position, they worked as a Full Stack Engineer at My Code from February 2020 to January 2022. While at My Code, Javier upgraded proprietary client-facing reporting software to efficiently scale to be utilized by dozens of clients in multiple countries across English, English-Black, Spanish, and International verticals for downloading client-specific performance reports. Javier also optimized proprietary internal reporting software by fully integrating compartmentalizable processes, removing redundancies in workflow, and templatizing custom code for rapid-deployment/reproducibility; instrumental in the SIPT team meeting pre-pandemic Cost Savings goal of over $2MM in fiscal year 2020 despite the downturn resulting from Covid-19, multiple lockdowns, and workforce transition to work-from-home. In addition, Javier created custom Python & Javascript integrations with HighChartsJS and DjangoTables2 to calculate and visualize complex data relationships for the purpose of providing deeper inventory insights based on each team’s individual needs. Finally, they compiled systemwide Heat Map Study aggregated from exported MySQL activity logs for the entirety of 2020 grouped by quarter (Q1-Q4) individual dashboard, and teams.

Javier Avitia received a Master of Science in Quantitative Management from NYU Stern School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science & Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Certificate in Full-Stack Web Development from University of California, Los Angeles. Javier also has a High School Diploma in Materials Science Engineering and Technology from Don Bosco Technical Institute. In addition, they have certification from Coursera Verified Certificates in An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python and from National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) as a Designated Engineer-In-Training.
