Karina Simonson is a distinguished expert in ethnic culture and intangible heritage, currently serving as an Expert at the Lithuanian Council for Culture since February 2022. As a Network Editor for H-AfrArts, Simonson facilitates discussions on African and African Diaspora expressive cultures in collaboration with the Arts Council of the African Studies Association. At Vilnius University, Simonson is an Assistant Professor, developing and teaching a unique course on Africa and Asia encounters. A versatile freelance writer, project manager, and senior librarian, Simonson has held several key roles, including leading the project management of the Vilnius Book Fair and promoting Jewish literature at the Vilnius Jewish Public Library. With extensive educational qualifications, including a PhD in Art History and multiple MFAs, Simonson's background spans multimedia design and extensive research in cultural studies.
