Technical Engagement Manager at H10 Capital

Joy Westland has worked in various roles since 2013. Joy began their career as a student and learning assistant at Central Washington University. In 2016, they were a summer research intern at Caltech for the Laser Interferometer-Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) where they used Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze the third generation mirror suspension systems for Advanced LIGO using ANSYS. That same year, they also worked as a Medical Innovation Capstone Project, creating a semi-automated cystoscope prototype incorporating mechanical, electrical, and software components. In 2017, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Global Good at Intellectual Ventures. From 2018-2021, they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Contractor for Intellectual Ventures through Aerotek and as a Project Manager 2 contractor through Insight Global at the Meta Reality Lab Research Audio Team. In 2021, they began working as a Technical Engagement Manager at H10 Capital, leading the managed service client engagements at multiple companies including Microsoft and Meta.

Joy Westland obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2018. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science in Physics from Central Washington University in 2018. In June 2016, they obtained their Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) from VirtualTester Online, Tangix Design & Development AB.
