Luke Sperrin

Co-Founder and CTO at H2GO Power

Luke Sperrin began their career in 2006 with a summer placement at the Institute of Cancer Research, where they investigated how a specific protein was responsible for controlling cellular growth. In 2010, they completed a summer placement at the Diamond Light Source, the UK's national synchrotron science facility, where they invented, synthesised and tested low-cost micro X-ray fluorescence calibration standards for first row transition metals. In 2011, they started a PhD Candidate position at the University of Cambridge. In 2013, they became Co-Founder and CTO of H2GO Power, a pioneering cleantech company that develops and delivers hydrogen energy storage technology for zero-emission, safe and reliable power supply. In 2022, they will become an Aspen UK Rising Leaders Fellow at the Aspen Institute UK.

Luke Sperrin received their Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge in 2010. Prior to that, they attended the Colchester Royal Grammar School from 2002 to 2007. Luke then went on to receive their MSci in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge in 2011, followed by their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge in 2015.
