Somesh Ganesh

Vice President Of Advanced Technology Development at H2scan

Somesh Ganesh has a wealth of work experience in the fields of advanced development, research, and teaching. Somesh began their career in 2004 as a Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant at the University of Southern California. During their time there, they developed a new reagent that reduced manufacturing costs for fluorinated chemicals and designed methodologies for the synthesis of a variety of compounds with applications in improved materials and pharmaceutical industries. Somesh also implemented the latest characterization and automation tools to increase the team's capabilities and throughput.

In 2012, they joined H2scan Corporation as the Director of Advanced Development. During their tenure, they implemented innovations to the sensor fabrication resulting in overall cost savings of 20%. Somesh also identified material factors responsible for the sensor's electrical performance variations through design of experiments and statistical analysis. Additionally, they generated marketing collaterals including applications notes and presentations for facilitating better product understanding, resulting in a shorter sales cycle by 50%. Somesh then moved on to become the Principal Scientist and Senior R&D Scientist, where they turned around a failing manufacturing by identifying the failure modes and implemented corrective action, resulting in resumption of manufacturing processes after a hiatus of 10 months. Somesh also developed protective coatings to withstand corrosive environments, leading to enhancement of product capabilities by 2X.

Somesh Ganesh's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Delhi University from 1997 to 2000, a Master of Science in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from 2001 to 2003, a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Southern California from 2004 to 2008, and a Master of Business Administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management from 2020 to 2022.
