Ari Alamäki

Principal Lecturer (digital Services) at Haaga-Helia University

Ari Alamäki has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ari is currently working as a Principal Lecturer (Digital Services) at HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences since 2012. In this role, they have gained ample experience in data and artificial intelligence RDI-projects and has also been involved in multiple digitalization projects funded by TEKES/Business Finland. Ari has served as a member of the European Commission's AI Expert Group from 2021 to 2022 and has been a part of the 3AMK AI-team since 2019.

Before their current role, Ari worked at Targetor as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) from 2008 to 2011 and as the Development Director and Co-Founder from 2003 to 2008. Ari also worked at Tietoevry as a Managing Consultant in eLearning from 2000 to 2003. Ari's earlier experiences include working as a Researcher and Teacher (Yliassistentti) at the University of Turku from 1999 to 2000, a Visiting Scholar at Technology Education at Virginia Tech in 1998, and at Minnesota State University, Mankato as a Visiting Scholar at Technology Education in 1997. Ari started their career at the University of Turku as a Researcher and Teacher from 1995 to 1997.

Ari Alamäki earned a PhD in Technology Education from the University of Turku from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, from 1990 to 1994, they completed their Master of Education, which included technical studies, at the University of Turku, Department of Teacher Education in Rauma.
