Murtaza Mithaiwala

Murtaza Mithaiwala has a diverse work experience starting from 1998 until present. Murtaza began their career as an Audit Assistant at T.M. Mullaji & Co., Chartered Accountants, where they worked from 1998 to 2001. Murtaza then moved on to M. P. Chitale & Co., Chartered Accountants as an Audit Senior from 2003 to 2004.

In 2004, Murtaza joined Joshi and Parelkar Associates as an Audit Manager, where they stayed until 2006. Murtaza then transitioned to Habib Bank AG Zurich, where they have held various roles since 2006. Murtaza started as an AVP - Team Leader in the Group Internal Audit Department and was later promoted to Unit Head - Regulatory Compliance in May 2020.

At Habib Bank AG Zurich, Murtaza's responsibilities have included risk-based audit and system review of group entities spread across multiple locations, including Zurich, UAE, UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, and Hong Kong.

Murtaza Mithaiwala began their education at St. Xaviers High School in Mumbai from 1990 to 1995, obtaining their 10th Grade / SSC certificate. Murtaza then proceeded to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting / Finance / Auditing at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics from 1995 to 2000. Following this, they pursued a Chartered Accountant degree in Accountancy and Audit at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, where they completed their education from 1998 to 2019. Additionally, Murtaza Mithaiwala is currently pursuing their certification as a Certified Internal Controls Auditor.
