Amina Iro

Amina Iro is an experienced associate editor at Hachette Book Group, adept at nurturing relationships with over 30 authors and estates, while acquiring books that align with Legacy Lit's mission to support underrepresented voices. Amina has a rich background as a writer, poet, and performance artist, having performed at prestigious events, including the 2019 Nigerian Economic Summit. Previous roles include editorial assistant positions at 20.35 Africa and HarperCollins Publishers, where Amina honed skills in manuscript assessment and literary marketing. Amina’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in English Creative Writing and Neurobiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, complemented by various teaching and research roles during university studies.
